PIXOVA DESIGN STUDIO

Apps, illustration and brand identity for small, ambitious teams

We are four designers in Lisbon. We turn rough ideas into products people enjoy using, from the first sketch to the finished app.

Small studio, careful work.

What we do, in a nutshell

Since 2019 we have designed apps, identities and illustration systems for startups, family businesses and public services. Every project is run by the people who design it: no account managers and no hand-offs. We work in short, visible steps, so you always know what is being made and why.

What clients say

Three teams we worked with this year.
Ana Duarte – tern

Pixova took our booking flow from a whiteboard sketch to a tested app in eight weeks. In the first month, a third more bookings were completed than with our old form.

Ana Duarte – tern -
Daniel Okafor – Riverline Transit

Our new icons work for every passenger, including visitors who don’t read Portuguese. The team tested each symbol on the ferry piers before a single sign was printed.

Marta Halden – Halden Paint Co.

Our colour cards, website and tins finally speak the same language. Pixova listened first and designed second, and our customers noticed straight away.

Illustrated onboarding screens on a tablet and phone

Illustrating Lumo’s onboarding

Lumo’s first three screens used to lose half of new users. We replaced the forms with illustrations that explain the app before asking for anything.

A colour system for Halden Paint Co.

Halden sells 214 paint colours, and its website, colour cards and tins described them three different ways. We gave them one system that works in print and on screen.

Sixty-four icons for Riverline Transit

Riverline’s ferries and buses needed signs that work for every passenger, including visitors who don’t read Portuguese. We designed and tested a set of 64 wayfinding icons.
