One Tent, No Moon

A lit tent is the oldest trick in night landscape photography and it still works, because it gives the eye somewhere warm to land in an otherwise cold frame.

The mistake is lighting it too brightly. One headtorch inside, pointed down at the floor so the fabric glows rather than the bulb burning a hole in the exposure.

The figure is me, standing very still for twenty seconds and regretting the thin jacket.
