How we handle notifications now

1–2 minutes
A phone lying quiet beside a notebook and a laptop on a clean desk, nothing on it asking to be dealt with right now

Every notification used to be equal, which meant every notification was noise. A comment on a document you own arrived the same way as a change to a project you left in March.

Now there are two kinds: things waiting on you, and things worth knowing. The first interrupts. The second waits for the daily summary, or never arrives at all if you would rather.
