Tess learned to cook that way from Margaret, one of the neighbors on our visiting list, who spent forty years running a school canteen. Margaret still comes in on Fridays to taste the sauce and tell us what it needs.
Everyone eats at the same tables: volunteers, neighbors, whoever wanders in. If you would like to help, the kitchen needs two more people for the washing-up shift.
