The logistics hub on the harbour is the largest single frame we have erected: 1,100 tonnes of steel over a 14,000 square metre slab, with two tower cranes and a crew of thirty.
Sequence is everything
We erected from the gable nearest the quay and worked inland, so each bay was braced before the next went up and the cladding crew could follow two bays behind. The cranes never waited for steel, because the shop delivered in erection order.
Weather days
We lost four days to wind, which we had allowed for. The roof sheeting started on day thirty-nine and the building was watertight a week after the frame was signed off.
