Every year brings a set of changes, most of which will not touch you, and one or two that will. The useful exercise is not reading all of them — it is working out which apply.
For most of the people we advise the answer comes down to three questions: has an allowance moved, has a threshold moved, and has the timing of anything shifted across a year end.
If none of those three has changed for your circumstances, the announcements are noise. If one has, it is worth an hour now rather than a correction later.
