Six hours on a train, and nothing to show for it

I took the slow line down the coast because it was eleven pounds cheaper and I had a book. I read four pages. The rest of it I spent looking out of a window at fields.

I cannot tell you anything I learned. It was the best day of the month, and I have thought about it since more than the week that followed it.
