Three bottles, five cacti and a sky made of cotton

The dairy wanted its bottles to look like a place rather than a product. Three bottles became three buildings, the cacti became a desert town, and the sky is cotton wool pulled apart by hand and hung on thread so the shadows fall on the wall behind.

The blue is the whole picture. It had to be warm enough not to make the milk look cold, and deep enough that the red caps read from across a supermarket aisle. We painted the board four times.

The cacti are modelling clay, each about the size of a thumbnail. Real ones looked like real ones, which was the wrong kind of real.
