In July that might be right. In January it is usually drowning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Growth stops when light drops, and a plant that is not growing is barely drinking. From November to February most of these want roughly half what they wanted in June: the cacti stop entirely, the philodendron goes to a fortnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Feel the soil instead of counting days. Push a finger in to the second knuckle. If it comes out damp, wait.
