We are a neighborhood nonprofit
that believes nobody should go without

Kinfold started in the winter of 2011, when six neighbors noticed the same faces at the bus stop every morning, waiting for a food bank two towns away. They set up a table in the old library on Orchard Lane, and forty people came on the first Thursday.

We are still run by volunteers. Two paid staff — a coordinator and a cook — keep the lights on; everything else is done by 1,260 people who give a few hours when they can.

We don’t ask anyone to prove they need help. We ask what would make this week easier, and we try to do that: a parcel, a hot meal, a lift to the clinic, or someone to talk to. Every dollar and every hour is accounted for in our annual report, and our books are open to anyone who asks.

About us

Fifteen years of
neighbors helping
neighbors

Kinfold began in 2011 as a Thursday soup table in the back of the old library on Orchard Lane. Today 1,260 volunteers run a pantry, a kitchen, a van and a visiting scheme — and nobody who asks for help is asked why.

Become a volunteer

Two hours a week is enough. Pack parcels, drive the van, cook on Fridays or sit with someone over coffee — we train you and pair you with someone who has done it before.
