For most adults with healthy eyes, a sight test every two years is enough. Dr. Lucia Paredes, who runs our eye care clinic, explains who should come more often.
More often for some
Children, people with diabetes, anyone with a family history of glaucoma, and adults over sixty are usually advised to come every year. Your optometrist will tell you the right interval for you after your first test.
Do not wait for the next test
Book sooner if your vision changes, if you see new floaters or flashes of light, or if an eye is red and painful. Sudden loss of vision in one eye needs urgent care the same day.
